Shinsuke Eguchi, Assistant Professor, and Nikki Roberts, PhD student, will receive the 2016 Monograph of the Year Award in the GLBTQ Communication Studies Division for their paper: Gay rapping and possibilities: A quare reading of “Throw That Boy P***y.” Text and Performance Quarterly, 35(2/3), 142-157. This award recognizes up to three outstanding monographs/scholarly articles advancing GLBTQ communication scholarship and published in the last two calendar years.

Susana Martínez Guillem, Assistant Professor, will receive a Top four Paper Honors award in the International and Intercultural Communication Division for her paper: "Precarious Privilege: The Civic Callings of Cultural Critique." This award recognizes the top four papers of the year in International and Intercultural Communication at the National Communication Association.
