Cassidy D. Ellis (MA, University of Alabama) is a doctoral student at The University of New Mexico studying critical intercultural communication. Her work is interested in discourses of race and personhood within abortion rhetoric and media and, specifically, the racialized conceptualization of "life"within these rhetorics. Her most recent scholarship will appear or has appeared in The Journal of Autoethnography, QED: A Journal in GLBTQ Worldmaking, Departures in Critical Qualitative Research, and in two forthcoming books, Reconstructing the South: Critical Regionalism and Southern Rhetoric (University of Mississippi Press) and Nevertheless, We Persisted: Living Feminist Politics through Theory and Activism (Rutgers University Press).
