Karla Ibet Ochoa was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She received her bachelor’s from the University of New Mexico in Communication with a concentration in Public Communication and a minor in Theatre back in May 2017. As a master’s student, Karla's interests fall under the scope of: intercultural communication, rhetorical communication and media. She is interested in doing work that involves bullying that focuses on teenagers and body image, as well as analyzing digitally altered media and the impacts it has on body image and self-esteem.
Karla is passionate about theatre/acting and the helping others. In her free time, she loves spending time with her two nephews, fiancé, family, friends, watching movies and T.V., shows (analyzing them through a theatrical perspective). She hopes to one day become a motivational speaker for people who have faced adversity and trauma and serve as an advocate to those who have been bullied.
