Shannon Horst

M.A. Student

Shannon Horst has worked as an Executive Director for an international sustainable agriculture organization, a freelance reporter, newspaper editor, and management consultant for organizations seeking to be more sustainable. Her professional experience includes, among other things, managing media training and support for an international church organization, editing the Africa and “Developing World” copy for the Christian Science Monitor, and managing a foreign language translating and interpreting division for a large international development agency. She grew up in NM, lived elsewhere for some years and came back to her home state to be close to family. She and her husband have two grown boys and love fly-fishing, hiking, farming and beekeeping. She received her BA in German from Georgetown University (some time ago) and is interested in looking at the role language and meaning have had, through the media and published literature, on how the public has viewed medicine, health and spirituality over the course of history (and of course its impact today!)
