Renowned World War II news correspondent—and one-time Albuquerque resident—Ernie Pyle is being celebrated once again, and a C&J student is one of the beneficiaries. 

In honor of Pyle’s birthday on August 3^rd, National Ernie Pyle Day is being celebrated in Albuquerque. And to honor Pyle’s journalistic legacy, the Ernie Pyle Legacy Foundation presented its first annual scholarship to a C&J student. The deserving winner was Andres del Aguila, a multimedia journalism major, who wrote an essay judged by C&J journalism faculty to best represent Pyle’s high journalistic standards.
