Didarul "Manik" Islam

Didarul “Manik Islam is a doctoral student at UNM in the Department of Communication and Journalism. Manik is originally from Bangladesh, and he received his second M.A. in Communication Studies from the University of South Dakota. Prior to that he earned his Bachelor and Masters in Mass Communication & Journalism from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has seven-year experience in working with several Bangladeshi national dailies as reporter and copy editor. He also served as a chief reporter in the Weekly Bangladesh, a weekly newspaper published from New York City. He has presented his research works at NCA, ICA and AEJMC conferences. His primary research areas are: Political use of social media, social and political movements, political communication, and media studies.
