Julia Martinez

Ph.D. Student

Julia is a granddaughter, daughter, sister, auntie, and a multi-community member from Northern New Mexico. She is also a doctoral student in Health & Culture Communications. Her research interests involve embracing and reaffirming cultural identify as a strategic process to improve health outcomes, specifically in the field of community-based participatory research. 

She holds a master’s in Health Education from the University of New Mexico and is the lead Community & Qualitative Research Specialist at the University of New Mexico’s Clinical and Translational Sciences Center Community Engagement and Integrating Special Populations team.
