Internship Opportunities
Earthmovers, the media outlet of trailblazers reclaiming the narrative, is seeking a social media paid intern, with a primary focus on copywriting. This internship is set to begin ASAP, through the second week of November.
Time commitment: 6-10 hours per week. Pay: $17.50/hour, and I am happy to fill out any paperwork required for students to get school credit.
About Earthmovers: Earthmovers comprises a seasonal podcast/YouTube, weekly Substack, and Instagram. The primary focus of Earthmovers is to center communities and people of color, and to restructure approaches to trail running and beyond, to be inclusive, diverse, and equitable.
Hosts and writers Alison Mariella Désir, Stefanie Flippin, Verna NezBegay Volker are adventurers and runners, leading equity advocates and friends.
Special guests are athletes, industry insiders, and community builders. They all share a passion for getting on the trails and know the life-changing power of experiencing the outdoors.
Core intern responsibilities: Intern will work primarily with producer Chérie Louise Turner to write about and promote weekly podcast episodes throughout season 3 of the podcast. Weekly duties include writing show notes and episode titles, and finding core themes and clips/quotes in each episode to highlight on Instagram and in Substack posts. Intern will also write Instagram copy and captions. There will be opportunities to craft graphics (posts, stories, reels) for Instagram, as time allows.
We are looking for: an advanced level college student with a passion for writing concise, SEO friendly copy, and who has a passion for DEI work and social media.
