Profile
Dr. Nafida Yousuf is a health communication scholar. She earned her Master's and Ph.D. in strategic communication, focusing on health communication, from the University of Oklahoma and her B.S.S. from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her research interests include the cognitive and emotional processing of media and health messages. Her dissertation is about receivers' attribution of responsibility upon reading texting and driving accident narratives and their intention to text while driving. At UNM, she teaches courses related to interpersonal communication, organizational communication, health communication, and introductory communication courses. She frequently employs problem-based learning methods in the classroom to allow students to think and find solutions to problems.
