Ph.D. Student

Arif Md Tareque Habib is currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Communication and Journalism at the University of New Mexico. He completed his second M.A. from the same department. Originally from Bangladesh, Arif obtained his first M.A. in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and also holds a bachelor's degree in mass communication and journalism from the same institution.
Arif brings over 12 years of professional experience to his academic pursuits, having worked extensively with various Bangladeshi national dailies, news TV channels, and online newspapers. His roles included serving as a reporter and copy editor, showcasing his comprehensive understanding of the media industry. Arif is actively involved in the academic community as a Teaching Assistant. In this capacity, he contributes to various courses such as Public Communication, Persuasive Communication, Nonverbal Communication, Theories of Communication, and Writing and Editing for Multimedia Journalism.
Dedicated to advancing knowledge in the field, Arif has presented his research works at conferences organized by the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC). His research interests span a broad spectrum, with a focus on international journalism, local journalism, media influence, and news source bias.
Arif's commitment to academic excellence and his extensive practical experience position him as a valuable contributor to the field of communication and journalism. As a Ph.D. student, he continues to explore and contribute to the understanding of media dynamics, drawing on his diverse background and research expertise.
