Doland Elected to Leadership of National Journalism Organization

Professor of Practice Gwyneth Doland has been elected Secretary of the Journalism and Women Symposium and will take office Oct. 15 at the conclusion of JAWS’ annual Conference and Mentoring Project in Chicago this October. JAWS is a national organization that advances the professional empowerment and personal growth of women in journalism and advocates for more inclusive coverage of the diverse experiences and cultures that comprise our society. Gwyneth has served on the board at JAWS for the past two years; she also served from 2010–2013. In October she joins incoming Board President Angela Greiling Keane of Bloomberg Government; Vice President Sonya Ross of Black Women Unmuted; Deputy Vice President Patricia Sullivan, formerly of the Washington Post; Treasurer Joanna Hernandez from the University of Florida; Keely Webster of The Bond Buyer; Jill Cornfield at Money; Suzanne Cosgrove with Wolters Kluwer; Linda Jue of 100Reporters; and Cirien Saadeh of the Journalism of Color Training Center.
