C&J Faculty and Alumni Present at the Cátedra Unesco de Comunicación

C&J faculty Ilia Rodríguez and Michael Lechuga, and alumni José Castro Sotomayor (California State University, Channel Islands) and Mónica Pérez Marín (Universidad de Medellín, Colombia) joined a panel of scholars from Bolivia, Colombia, Mexico, and Spain on Oct. 21 for a discussion on decolonial perspectives in the study communication and culture.  

The panel was part of an international colloquium at the XXVII Cátedra Unesco de Comunicación, hosted by the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. The virtual session was titled "La teoría crítica decolonial en los estudios de la comunicación social, un coloquio sur-norte sobre comunicación y cultura. "
